WHAAAaaaat....2011 is about to be no more??!!

I really want to be better about posting on my bloggy here, but its merely a wish just like I wish I could get this new Betsey Johnson purse...I just want to be able to read back on this and remember what the heck we were up to.

Well in other news, we are just around the corner from my Kennedy's 4th birthday, 2012 minus 2008 is four right?! (I feel sick)
Morgan the not-so-baby, is 15 months now. GEEEZE!! Oh and Cody turned 30 HA! I'm glad I stopped aging at 27 cause this is getting ridiculous!!
We just celebrated Christmas and are getting ready for the new year. Morgan had her well child appointment today, weighs 21 pounds (skinny), 23(tall) inches, and still has a big noggin. Also she had to get her 3 immunizations today, and did well but Kennedy was a BASKET CASE!! Shesh, she got a sucker and a sticker cause she handled the shots well. Morgan got a sucker too :)

Morgan Kae is: eating ALL and EVERYTHING, her favorite words: Ninny (kennedy), Penny, Here, Stop, and Bu bye, dad, daddy. She is very inquisitive and laughs at the most random things. She makes a "cheese" face when I hold my phone up (even when I'm not taking a picture) Dances and sings when ANY form of music is on, She LOVES her bed and giving kisses before night time, Her Daddy is her favorite person. AT. ALL. TIMES, already pesters her sister, and would live in the fridge if I would let her. She is the perfect completion of our family and will probably get away with anything, she is hilarious and I love her SOOO!!

Kennedy Grace is: a ballerina, girly as heck, has a boyfriend , wants to be "a star" when she gets big, loves everyone she meets, worries about people who are sick or sad, leaves the room when anything on a movie gets intense, eats like a bird, ends up in our bed every morning, bedtime is NOT her forte. I love her, she melts my heart.

2012,it's crazy that it's here...that means I've been graduated for 10 freakin years, what does that mean?! Do I need to consider myself old now?! Do I have to stop listening to my music loud and going to concerts? Crap I'm not gonna!!!! Well Happy Holidays and Happy New Year! We Seaton 4 are welcoming the future and my heart is full and hopes are high!!!

I don't have any pictures of myself becausee you would be looking at, well a picture I'd be taking of myself and I just don't do that...it lowers my self esteem, those never turn out good and I'd much rather show you my gorgeous family! And that is my rationale of the absent Jena Pics.

Little "Morgie" turned a year 09/08/11 this year, and we had a CEL-E-BRA-TION!!! It was such a fun Carnival party, man does my family know how to throw a party! It was 2 months ago but I think I'm doing good posting this with in 6 months. Morgan and Kennedy are so different and at first I thought, Oh YES I have a quiet more extrovert...maybe she will be more like Cody. I've since changed my thoughts on that.

I think I may be at my peak of happiness right now, I feel like I can breath and enjoy these 3.... If this were a made for TV movie the soundtrack would be something upbeat and maybe Nelly Frutado-ish..... not to say we haven't met our few hiccups but I guess it gives us prospective. So I just kinda went off on a tangent and am not sticking to the subject at hand which is Morgan Kae

Here are her stats' When we went for her 12 month check she was right at 20lbs, (two pounds heavier than Kennedy Grace was) But Morgan is still less than 50% surprisingly! She is really tall and I suck at life because I don't remember how tall!!! She was 75% though... She is in size 3 diapers, attached to her bottle, and a pretty decent eater. She loves to be held, but insists on her OWN bed. Her favorite people are her dada and "ninny". I swear she is calling me Nena...whatever....I am so lucky cause my MIL Gayla is watching her for me and so that's avoided a lot of sickness and worry on my part. Thanksgiving is coming next Thursday and it's helping me to focus on the positive in my life and that's something I'm trying to really keep in perspective. And so come the pictures.....

Oh Miss Morgan how we all love you!! She is such a happy baby, my parents say its because she gets to be around her Mema. Morgan is currently in fast motion crawling around and getting into EVERYTHING. She sometimes reminds me of a little goat because if you let her she would eat everything (paper, plants...ANY FOOD) You look at her and she smiles and laughs. Kennedy is her biggest fan and I hope they stay that way for at least a couple more years. We are so happy to be a family of four and Cody seems to be adjusting to the 3:1 ratio!!

We have been pretty busy with Kennedy's birthday celebrations, and making sure she's getting PLENTY of attention, but Morgan has been pretty busy herself! Here are a few things to catch those who've missed out, up to speed!

Oh what a party!

Kennedy's friends and family came over last Saturday to dress up, make cupcakes, eat lots of sugar and play play play!! We are so lucky that Kennedy has some many people that can be a part of her life. She had the best time and is still talking about it. And I am still finding sprinkles and stickers all over the house! So here comes yet again another photo overload. Thanks mom for taking these for us....

I should of taken an after shot with all the sprinkles and icing on the floor, it was pretty messy! It didn't take long to ~~let the dogs clean it up~~ vacuum up! :)

I am a big party person! Any excuse to organise and plan a good time and I'm in....but holy cow were we tired!!

This morning we went to the donut stop, Kennedy told the lady: it was her birthday, she was three, and, "My mom is sad" Ha, then she got a dozen free donut holes :)

This girl has been the meaning to our lives for 3 whole years now! We got pictures taken before her bday party yesterday and here are the out takes I thought were too cute. Some fun facts about Kennedy: she loves to read, LOVES her baby sister Morgan, loves "comic book friday" with her daddy, cooking anything and everything, spending the night with her Mema and Pepa, Loves her cousins, Loves flying to see her Nonna and Pepa, and she loves all her nursery friends at church!

Things I love about this 3 year old: the way she wakes us up in the morning saying "I had sweet dreams, and I so missed you!", how she just knows when you need a hug or a cuddle, how much she still loves her sister, the way she says her prayers, I love that I can call her mine!

I wish I could list all the funny moments I encounter with her on a daily basis, because this kid is hilarious!!

I remember the day she was born 3 years ago and the second she was here I couldn't take my eyes off of her, the first thing I remember was hoping she would be strong enough for the world and fearing for all the things she would have to go through. And 3 years after I already know that the world is lucky to have her!

So HAPPY BIRTHDAY KENNEDY GRACE SEATON!!

O my mom won a cupcake tray with mix to go with and Ken and I thought we'd make them. Her new found Independence prevents me from taking pictures of the baking process, otherwise water would have been the main flavor in these. So ANYWAY, they smelled great...

Amarillo has the best Sunrise

When the weather starts turning cool, leaves start falling, and the grass changes ~~gets tracked in my house and covers my floor and DRIVES ME CRAZY~~, I start to get excited because that means the Holidays are coming and Christmas is soon!!

It also forces me to reflect on the past year...

Life has "happened" to my family this past year, both taken and given. The taken part is sad and hard to get through but as my dad says, my family understands death, and that makes it easier.

I will miss my Gigi this year, mostly because Morgan is here and she would love how chubby her cheeks are and how she is smiling and cooing. Gigi would be so excited to hear that Jordan will soon be a mother and she would have funny things to say about how Jordan will have to really start cleaning and doing laundry more often than monthly. Ha ha.

This year Kennedy has grown SO MUCH and is a healthy little 2 1/2 year old. We were also given our little Morgan Kae, who is a chill, laid back, pleasantly plump little sweety. My job is great and Cody seems to be learning more at his daily. Needless to say us Seatons' are very blessed and extremely Thankful. We are very close to Cody's family and always get to spend time with them. I'm lucky...I actual have normal in-laws and love them!! ha ha

We have been able to visit my parents in Corpus Christi about every 6 months, and my parents get to come to Amarillo almost monthly!

I know there are many more bumps in the road to come and I'm positive 2011 will have a few...but we are a learning family and we seem to get through it as it comes.

This year we are going to my parents for Thanksgiving, so that means we are flying with our almost 3 year old and almost 3 month old...GEEZE! Lets hope those around us are in the Holiday spirit as well and won't mind their chairs being kicked or the occasional cry from the baby. Lastly here are some pics to keep the parents happy/updated...

Well we had a GREAT time this year
, Kennedy picked her costume out again and AGAIN decided she wanted to be an animal. She was a pink monster the first year and last year a monkey. SO this year she was a puppy named "Spot" She was the cutest puppy, and definitely got into character.

...that's what Kennedy's shirt this year (she wore the same one last year) said for the Race for the Cure this year. It meant a lot to us this year because a close friend of mine was diagnosed with breast cancer on her birthday two years ago. We were only able to do the one mile walk since I had just given birth two weeks before. Kennedy had a blast this year, and I felt bad we had to leave the "parade" early. She ran to the finish line and thought she was a star! On the way out we ran into two famous friends; FoFa and Sponge Bob. Kennedy is getting so big and such a fun girl! I am so proud of her and love her so much!!

The last picture was posed, well Kennedy was really asleep. Morgan and I were telling her goodnight and Kennedy grabbed Morgan and told her sweet dreams and then fell back asleep. These are the moments that make your heart melt.

Well, since Morgan is only 13 days old...Cody and Kennedy had a date with the rides and fair food. Kennedy has been talking about it for a week. Funny how kids don't forget things. I'm not gonna lie, Morgan and I did show up for an hour so I could get in some fair food!! Morgan stayed in her carrier covered up while the rest of us indulged...
I didn't dare take a picture of myself but here are the pics of Kennedy riding those rides and eatin some food. They also ran into some friends of ours, the Heaths', and Kennedy got to ride along with her, Kennedy LOVES Charly!!

Someone is expecting in April....

No not me, or Julia....

My little sister Jordan and her hubby Brandon are expecting their first little baby the end of April!!!
I could not be more excited! I'm thinking boy, and still have a while to wait. Jordan is feeling good, she's still teaching and coaching. So greatfull to be able to be around my sisters while we all are starting our families. I'm thinkin Jordan should try and have the most kids, so far all she has to beat is 4.

Cha Cha Cha Changes...

So a week ago yesterday I went to work going on practically no sleep due to a night full of contractions, worked all morning, and suddenly realized I was spending more time making bathroom trips then tending to patients. Then around 3 I drove home tired from the day. Cody met me at home and drove me to the hospital because of a slow leak.
Cody was pretty funny driving me to the hospital going 80, weaving through all the cars. Ha ha, what a guy! When we got there I asked for an epidural but was told I had to wait until I was admitted...SO I did. I was dilated to a 4 and having progressive contractions every 3 minutes. It was an amazing Labor and Delivery, I got my epidural after some relaxing IV medications, gotta love Nubian..., pushed 10 minutes and Morgan Kae Seaton arrived PERFECT!!! Cody couldn't be happier with his two little "spawns". Kennedy is comical, Cody and I just look at each other after some of the things she says or will do. She is in love with her baby sister Morgan Grace Seaton, ha ha. Morgan is so quiet and smiles ALL THE TIME, she must feel how much we all love her so. Since Morgan is our last one I do occasionally hold her, Cody says I'm spoiling her, ha...and, I am!

So Due to the above event, a change in blog name was in store. So it has become Spawns of Seaton, hahaha. I just love my little spawns!!!!

And 3 turns into 4!!!

Ready to GO!!

Kennedy and I are trying to get in as much time together before the new baby Morgan comes, so today we went to the zoo before the 93 degree heat set in. She's such a smart kind hearted kiddo, and come January she will be 3...and that makes me really sad.

I know with a baby coming she will be even more grown up too! Cody and I are constantly braggin on how precious she is, (not that she doesn't visit the corner every now and then!)

She started coming in our room and waking us up by saying, "Mommy (daddy) I missed you" and then she will grab our face and give us a kiss and a hug and climb under the covers with us. I hope she stays sweet forever! HA!! Then I think about my own household growing up and realize it's not that way forever, but until then she's our precious little Grace!

Soon to make her appearance...

our very own MORGAN KAE SEATON!! Cody finally decided on a name, and I am very pleased with it :) I had a shower this past Saturday and I got all this AMAZING stuff, my hostesses did a very good job. My friend Krista made my door hanger, letter "M" that is hanging above the closet, lamp, bow holder, and diaper cake! Check her stuff out HERE

I am so very pleased with how her room turned out, I still have some things to hang on the walls but the major decorating is behind me HALLELUJAH!!!! Cody drew and painted this tree in the corner, he's so talented!
I am in love with these colors, Jordan came over and helped with these stripes, and she also painted the letters in Morgan's name! Now if we could just find a baby to enjoy this room, HA!

So since we will no longer be a family of 3, my blog name is soon to change! (Exciting I know :) I'm due September 24th, but if she's anything like her big sister it's gonna be a waiting game...

So....I found this recipe for Pizza Rolls and thought it would be fun to make with Kennedy since she is OBSESSED with her kitchen and "cooking". I got everything ready and called her in and she said, "No mamma I don wan to, I just wanna watch Dora"...figures....so I started making them got halfway through and she must have realized how much fun I was having. So we put her apron on and she went to work making the biggest mess out of 4 recipes possible. I got some pictures of course.....

Tomorrow is father's day and so I'll be thinking about the two most important guys in my life, my dad and Cody. My dad's down south by Corpus Christi so he won't be able to spend the day with me...poor guy, but we will get to see him when he comes here for his 50th. That's right 50!! It's a good thing though he's getting closer to retirement, so closer to moving back here with all of us again!!
Cody's a pretty good dad too, at least that's what Kennedy thinks so that's all important. Funny how having a little girl can change a guy so much. But in a good way :)
There are some who aren't as lucky and don't have an amazing dad or husband and I can't imagine my life without them. So here's to you the two rocks in my life! Have a HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!!! Love ya :)

So we have less than 15 weeks, almost 100 days till we become a family of 4 and we have no idea what to name this baby girl!! I haven't really worried all that much but people are asking like crazy and it's starting to make me worry. I kinda had an idea we could just name her when we saw her, but not all baby's look "normal" when they come out so I don't really wanna base it on her...immediate...first, appearance. That probably sounds bad, but it's not her fault she's been squished and swimming in fluid for like 10 months. So so far I'm calling her Brunhilda, Cody wants to name her since he, "was robbed of ever having a boy". Even though he's the one producing all the X Chromosomes. Well, had to get that worry off my chest...well until then I'm gonna try to stay pleasantly plump and growing!!!

oh crap I just realized I'm gonna have to rename my blog too....any ideas??!!!

Waiting for baby #2!!

Not sure how much Kennedy understands about the big event coming up,

she has started noticing my belly getting bigger...and bigger :)

In these last few months Kennedy has totally turned toddler/big girl. She LOVES playing with her friends at "school" and going to nursery at church to see her "nursery friends". Her favorite things right now are:

DORA (there's no avoiding any little girl from loving Dora)
Sippy cups and milk (my current battle with her, moving onto regular cups)
Ice Cream or Sno Cones
Playing ANYTHING outside
Being held and cuddled (my favorite too :)

Our family is better than ever and we continue to prepare for this new baby and embrace all the changes we have endured. We have many blessings and thank our Heavenly Father daily for giving us all that we have. We have about 4 months untill the newest little girl meets our family, or untill we meet her!! So it'll be busy busy from here on out!!

This was the result of an early morning Wal Mart run to save my injured child from her run in with a window seal. It was too late for the Sponge Bob ice pack, but I figured it would be good to have for future accidents. I also bought her some candy to distract her while I played Dr. Mom....she probably could have used a couple stitches but decided it would be awful in itself to go through all that. So butterfly it was....

Kennedy loves jumpin on our bed and on her daddy, and that's what happened Saturday morning when she was going to jump on Cody with a blanket on her head and caught the edge of the window seal. She was a tough cookie though, and was more concerned as to why I had blood on me and constantly asking if I was ok. She's such a sweet girl.

No matter how cute the Band Aid, she sees one and thinks SHOTS. That was the most traumatic part so Cody decided he needed to wear one too....

...and he did...he wore it All. Day. LONG.

This Thursday starts our vacation, but this time around Cody and I are going to Dallas for Edgefest and good Eatin, and Kennedy is going to her Nonna and Pepa's with Kaelynn for WAY FUN!!! She will be gone almost 6 days and 5 nights. I started packing her today and I think if anyone has a hard time it will be me!! She is going to have so much fun and has already tried to leave with her luggage, ha ha!

Also, we will find out the gender of baby Seaton the week following our Vacation, I can't believe we are almost into our 6th month!!!!

This is the blog I was going to use to catch up on all my events that have happened over the last few months....
I was going to post pictures of my AMAZING weekend getaway with only the girls...
I was going to post pictures of the beautiful hotel, spa, and all the shopping adventures we had...
I took pictures of miss Kennedy in her Easter dress hunting Easter eggs and was going to post those. Also, I finally got a good picture of my two sisters and I before I got ginormous and it was even frame worthy!!
Well, was going to BECAUSE I am not familiar with Windows 7 and I ended up DELETING all my pictures. AHHHH, and there was no one to blame but Bill Gates!!!!! I think I may have told Cody it was his fault though, that happens when you have a computer nerd as a husband and he's sitting right beside you, therefore; gets the brunt of the blame. Welp, until next time....

P.S. 3 more weeks till we find out if this second Spawn of Seaton will be a boy or gal!!!

Barnyard Birthday

So I went through and found these pictures I totally forgot I had from the night Kaelynn stayed the night. This was an experience and Kennedy had a blast. I wanted their Nonna to see them and all their glory.

This is them just getting started, of course playing with the Dora house Kylie gave Kennedy.

Cody bought us Jorge's to go, so they split a Quesadilla, and then I realized either of them are "eaters" and would have been perfectly happy with Yogurt and an apple...

So, obviously fake but Kennedy was really asleep, she played with Kaelynn's hair and dozed off, this is what Kaelynn does when you ask her to pretend she's asleep....

Ah, the morning, this is what naturally curly hair looks like, if I turned the camera around you'd see it only gets worse as you get older. These are our special K's on my side, and they will be headed to Nonna's in a couple months so GET READY!!!

We also have 2 other nieces, Keelie and Kylie who are a little older on Cody's side. We are already planning on breaking the K name trend if we do have a girl...hope she's OK with that, so we will plan on having a boy instead....

Kennedy, in her current state after her fun afternoon. For some reason this girl's favorite texture is hair and so she plays with her bella dolls hair when she can't play with mine.

I am the biggest fan of Winter, but when it comes down to staying inside ALL DAY with a 2 year old due to the snow...it quickly becomes my least favorite season. SO we hung out with Tiffany and Addalyn this afternoon. We met for lunch and then went over to Jump'n'Jive to get some energy out of these gals!! It was almost impossible to take pictures of these movers...here's one from Kennedy's birthday a couple weekends ago, they played so hard that day you can see it in their faces. I posted it on here because I failed to get a good one of them today together.

We went to Kabuki for her birthday dinner and she loved the soup and the chef, not so much the fire...

This was a reaction to the thought of fire....

We had the opportunity to take some of Kennedy's friends to Jump'n'Jive today to celebrate Kennedy's 2 year birthday!! It was SUCH a fun time. All Kennedy's little friends were there (minus Aysen and Charli) Kennedy is OH SO independent...I tried so hard to get pictures of her and she never stood still long enough for a good picture.

I can not believe she is 2!!

She is:

-going into her 2nd week of Day school and she loves it!!

-sleeping still pretty well in her toddler bed

-Loves to go ridin in the car or going with her grandparents anywhere

-refuses to be potty trained :) but today went to her potty without me having to force her...I'm not holding my breath though...

-talks in full sentences: "follow me mama" "I wanna watch Dore" "can I have some Kooool Aid..Peeeess"

-LOVES YO GABA GABA

-says Please and Thank You when necessary and without being told most of the time

-GOING TO BE A BIG SISTER!!!!!!!

-enjoys her DANCE time with daddy daily

-is not the best eater but would never pass up sweets

-tall and skinny

Kennedy wanted cookies for her snack after her afternoon nap today, and has an excellent memory because I totally forgot those chocolate chip lovelies were still there!!

My mom made those MEGA yummo cookies uhhhh Christmas eve....so there fits my blog tittle :) I didn't want her to suffer alone so I tried a bite. A little crunchier but still so good. I showed Ken how to dunk them in milk and I caught a few pictures for her Nonna and Pepa to see she was still enjoying their cookies!! (never mind they are a little old mom)

Thanks Nonna for my afternoon snack!! Oh and let me know if you notice anything new about Kennedy...or her accessories.....

Cody is still working at Atmos Energy and I think I finally understand what exactly he does!! Some of the stories he tells me about work experiences make me realize he tolerates WAY more than I would be able to and has more patience than i give him credit. He is a diligent reader and that is what you could find him doing in his free time. He is currently loving to read anything to do with history and religion (Nerd)...well THAT or playing his Xbox :) 2010 has a lot in store for him, I feel, his work is undergoing some changes that may or may not affect him, but with a new call center being built here come changes so we will work through them if we need to. Although our place is in Amarillo and there's no denying that.I am still working PRN (as needed) at BSA Family Medical Clinic and Children's Home Health. I am staying home with our little Grace for the most part and I've recently noticed that 2010 may hold a change for that as well....I'll explain later...Recent events made me remember a discussion with Cody earlier this fall how our family has not had to endure much heartache and how lucky we are. Well I ate those words Christmas Eve when Gigi decided that her time on this earth was up and she decided to go to sleep and join the rest of our family who passed on. As my dad would say, "our family understands death" so this didn't scare or discourage me when she died. I am so happy she is free from pain and that she was able to be here long enough to share life experiences with us as long as she did. I do miss her and want so badly to talk to her and that will be hard. So therefore; I am happy that I am able to have the knowledge of the truth and that families are forever. It has made our family stronger to endure such a loss and I underestimated our ability to pull through the huge loss of our Gigi. Moving on....my plans for 2010 include continuing working where I'm needed and spending time with Kennedy. Kennedy Grace this girl is hilarious, polite, stubborn, loving, and way too smart!! I am so proud of who she is becoming. Currently her favorite things are: church nursery (I have to PULL her out of there), her kitchen, (present from Santa) and YO GABA GABA (I thought it was a phase) She is still sleeping in her toddler bed and got new bedding from Nonna and Pepa so it looks like we'll be needing to get her actual bed set up soon!!! She is almost unmovable on the potty training subject. She just DOES NOT wanna do it. I broke down and bought her an actual potty seat and we shall see how that goes. I mentioned earlier that I knew a change would have to occur for her in 2010 and that's because she LOVES being around other kids. I mean most kids run to their parents when they pick them up from nursery and Kennedy locks on to the slide, door, whatever and I have to peel her off because she loves it so much. We are going to enroll her in Mary and Rogers Day school 3 days a week. I took her to look at it and I figure she's going to do well for the simple fact that she CRIED when we LEFT!! She wanted to stay and I had to end up taking her to Jump and Jive to make up for getting her hopes up. She is Cody and my life and we decided that we couldn't have her growing up an only child so someday we will have a brother or sister for her to pester.

We still live in our first home and although it's old and I am sometimes forced to love it....I am happy staying here for the time being. We have done a lot of work to our house and it's perfect for us 3! (well 5 with Penny and Fender)

2009 was a happy year for us, we had our 1 year celebration of having our sweet daughter and we were blessed to be able to vistit my parents in Corpus frequently and I am thankful that we are able to do that. In four weeks our little one will be 2!! The first best thing about 2010 so bring it on!! Happy New Year to you all!!

My Gigi left this earth on Christmas day perfectly and suddenly. I am sad and in disbelief. My family feels incomplete without her. But she is SO deserving of where she is and who she is with...and that gives me comfort.

Happy Birthday Grobie

Thats what Kennedy has been telling Cody all day because her life is centered around Yo Gaba Gaba and Brobie but she pronounces it Grobie. Today is Codys birthday 28 years old!! He is spending it at work while Im home with our sick little one. Here are some random things I have come to discover about this 28 year old husband of mine.....

1. Most of you know this, but he L-O-V-E-S Transformers.

2. He has a huge appreciation for music of all kinds and is a good musician himself.

3. He has been a part of 3 bands

4. Kennedy has him wrapped around her little finger

5. He loves chips and queso and could survive on them if possible

6. He was an almost expert father the day Kennedy came home

7. He will always be the last to get up in the morning, I have accepted that fact

8. He eats every new recipe I try and says its awesome about every one

9. He wears holes in his underwear and socks faster than ANYONE!

10. He likes to shop as long as I don't take TOO long in my decision making

11. He gets excited over the little things

12. He makes it so hard to not smile when he is being goofy and I am mad at him

13. Kennedy LOVES him so much and he is such a fun dad

14. He is not your typical Texan, and people say he should live in New York because he is pretty Liberal

15. He voted for Obama :)

16. He will find everything out for himself and will NOT go with a crowd

17. He gets claustrophobic when around big crowds, but never at a crowded concert

18. He joins in at concert Mosh pits

19. He is a great decorator, and helps me pick out my clothes

20. He is 28 and that means I have 2 years to have another child...

21. The first thing he says when I get home is, "How was your day" and then he really listens

22. And of course a patient husband, fun dad, sweet son, and truthful person

Day after Thanksgiving

So this isn't the reason for the season, but Black Friday has become a tradition between my sister-in-law Tara and I. We went this year with my friend Krista and mother-in-law. We woke up at 3:30am and went to Kohls at 4. We were in and out in 30 minutes, Starbucks, then on to the mall to hit up the other stores. I took a picture of the damage along with us at our last stop. We were DONE by then.

My little friend is hidden in the picture above, can you find her among all the bags?! We had fun and I got all my shopping done! I love black Friday.
I can not wait for Christmas, even though its kinda already here. Christmas Eve my sisters and their families are spending all day here along with my parents. We have a whole day planned out, starting with football at the park, brunch, a live nativity, games, lunch, the Christmas Story and presents. Kennedy went to see Santa and LOVES him, last year not so much...

I have been thinking a lot lately about all the many blessings in my life and my families, and it makes me tear up when I realize how lucky we really are. To update anyone who reads this and doesn't know about our current life: Cody is working at Atmos and the company is going through some big changes and moving people around. Cody is staying in Amarillo at the new call center they should start building here pretty soon. He is always wanting a challenge and to learn new things at work and takes on anything he is given. I have the opportunity of staying home half the week and working at BSA Family Medical Clinic the other days or at Children's Home Health with a little girl I've grown to love and just can't let go!! On the days I am at work, Cody's mom Gayla watches Kennedy for us and Kennedy loves it!! So we have so many things to be Thankful for. I am thankful for a loving husband, who does ANYTHING for Kennedy and I and puts us first. I am thankful for the gospel and it's power and truth. I am thankful for a family that is loving and there when we need them and so giving. I am thankful for the example each and every family member sets for my daughter in this world of challenging dangers and temptations. I am thankful for good health and for God giving Cody and I this simple life that makes us so happy and complete. I am thankful for the trials to come and the tools I have to get through them. Recently I am also thankful for modern technology that helped me get my little girl to and fro on our little girls get away last week!! Hope you all have a Happy Thanksgiving and are at a happy time in your lives.

I got some pictures from the last day in Corpus, we went to the Aquarium and here they are!!

We had SO much fun with my parents, and we ended up driving back with them to Amarillo. VERY long trip!! We are all getting so excited for the holidays, and having a lot of fun together as a family. A week from today is Thanksgiving and my little family has had to endure some small trials and are learning to slowly get through them. We are planning to spend it with Cody's family this year, and my parents are making a big trip North to Washington to spend it with my dad's mom and sister. So Happy Thanksgiving to you all!!!

Not the greatest Shopper!

So to start off the morning, I awoke to the sound of Kennedy crying Pepa and looked at my phone, 5:24 AM!! I got up and Kennedy was in the laundry room crying, her Pepa had a meeting in San Antonio and had just left her. She was SO upset!! I took her to my bed to watch TV, and soon she was bored of me and off to check on her Nonna. (this was about 6:00) After her 2 eggs, and some Handy Manny we all got around and ready to do some shopping. Kennedy had her shinny shoes on and we were OFF.

Apparently she didn't get the memo that the day was going to be full of nothin but shopping, cause she was pretty resistant to our plans!!! I'm working on my intimidation factor with this little gal because I don't seem to have it down with her.....

I did put her in time out, I even found a corner to put her in and I think it was effective!!

After her 2 hour nap she was a totally different child, she would try things on....

Oh and at Gymboree, she was excellent and sat and watched TV, but then at one point i looked over and she was standing in the middle of this circle rack of clothes, I just figured she was hiding....

I soon realized the mineral oil I'd been giving her had done it's job, cause she came out eventually and informed EVERYONE she had pooped and was, "SHEEEEWWWWEEEEYYY" So we had to race to go find a bathroom and did eventually after 2 failed attempts...

For dinner Nonna is making us breakfast I am excited, especially since Cody is not a fan of it for dinner. Tonight is gonna be filled with Kennedy getting to run around as much as she wants and boss her pepa around. Welp I'm smelling the French Toast and I just saw Kennedy carrying her diaper that should be on her so I guess I better go eat and inform pepa kennedy found something. :)

MADE IT!!

That's right we made it! I was doubtful because Kennedy doesn't seem to be shy, embarrassed or afraid of ME. I kinda considered the idea I may be a repeat of the mother who was kicked off due to her child's behavior on the plane. I'm guessing the prayer Cody said before we left may have helped cause she was such a good girl. There was one time that she kicked the seat in front of us and the grouchy old business select guy turned around. I just said, "it was her" and pointed to Kennedy and he turned around after an eye roll. HA HA! I ended up having to use all my emergency items and she got sticky sucker everywhere but wasn't crying that's the only thing that matters. The flight staff was awesome and ate Kennedy up. Kennedy cheered when we finally landed in Corpus and said TA DA!!!

We did leave Cody, but I think time away will only make him appreciate his girls even more!!! And like I said, Call of Duty comes out this week so he'll be suffering through the loneliness just fine! Well, Kennedy is taking a nap and I wanted to update Cody on his girls down south. We love you and Kennedy will miss you eventually. She did tell me, " bye mama" once her Nonna got her at the airport so don't feel bad she thought I should leave her too. ok here are some pictures.....

South for the Winter

Well, not the WHOLE winter...
Kennedy and I will be flying high tuesday, yup just the two of us. I'm a little concerned (actually extremely nervous) about this trip. My feelings worsened after I heard about the woman and child getting KICKED OFF THE PLANE because the child wouldn't stop crying or throwing a fit. OH MY GOSH!!! I have the following: books (7 of them), Coloring book and crayons, Ipod with Yo Gaba gaba episodes, CANDY, bendaryl, and a pacifier i found from when she was 6 months old.

So, if you couldn't read the fine print, don't worry about it. Those are my EMERGENCY ONLY ITEMS. I am excited if I could just get past the plane ride there. The thing that always has gotten on my nerves about flying to Corpus is that it takes too long. No matter what you stop in Dallas and Houston instead of just Houston or Dallas. We also have a 25 minute layover in Dallas so I hope we aren't running late AHHHHH. It will be nice to see my parents and Cody's excited cause Call of Duty comes out so I'm sure he'll be hooking that up to our flat screen in our living room and have a good 'ole time screaming at all the 13 year old teens playing.
Well hopefully I won't have a story of getting kicked off the plane to blog when I get back Friday...so if you are up at 7am Tuesday say a little prayer for Kennedy Grace and I...WE WILL NEED IT!!!

HALLOWEEN!!

This year's Halloween was a BLAST!! Cody and I had a party at our house the day before Halloween and I was a bit under the weather, but it didn't stop me from having our 5th annual party. I dressed up as a Cindy Loper, 80's gal and Cody was...to no surprise...Optimus Prime. Kennedy was a monkey, although her costume could pass for a mouse, or bear also. She was hilarious this year, she's not shy at all and walked up to the houses (by herself), knocked, said "twik o tweet", got candy, said "thank you", and shut the door. She is so funny and independent. Cody went ahead and put full use into his costume and dressed up with her to do the Trick or Treating. I didn't dress up the dogs this year although Fender has his hot dog costume and Penny has her Lady bug. I decided not to torture them this year. OK so here come the pictures.....

It's true, I found the Christmas cards I bought for last year in my linen closet and decided if those puppies were gonna make it in the mail they better get addressed. I won't tell exactly how long they have been addressed because I really am a busy working mom, and don't wanna sound pathetic.

I know that the sooner the holidays get here, the faster they are gone, but I just am so excited for the holidays this year!! I love Halloween and have had decorations up since September 1st. Kennedy got her costume in today and as I type is asleep in the living room floor wearing it. She is so funny!! So yes mom your right I will be getting my money's worth! (ha ha)

The biggest and most important reason for my excitement is because our little family went through a big change in February (valentine's day to be exact) and it feels like Cody and I are going through everything for the first time, and getting through life much easier and seem somehow to have more patients with each other and our little Grace and the love is much stronger. So DOY I'm excited for the best time of the year!!

The holidays mean family and I, fortunately, love all of mine, in laws and everything:) I can't wait for my parents to come up for Christmas and spend all Christmas Eve along with my two sisters and their families (minus the furry mammals in the back yard) And this year is Thanksgiving with the Seaton's so we look forward to GOOD FOOD and FAMILY, although they probably shouldn't be in that order.

So, I am trying to be patient and take it all in as it comes and treasure each moment, guess I'll have to learn patients. I'll have plenty to keep busy though, next week my sister, sister in law, mother in law and friend, Krista are going to do some MAD shopping in Oklahoma. Then comes Halloween WOO HOO!! So, happy holidays to you all I know for A LOT of you it will be the first with a new baby and it's so exciting!!

My friend Lucretia was diagnosed on her 41st BIRTHDAY with breast cancer last year and we did the 2008 walk a week later. So, this year was very special marking the 1 year battle she has had and we all were there to walk with her. Kennedy's shirt last year said Babies for Boobies. This year it said Find a Cure Before I Grow BOOBS!

I have yes, like many of you, put off blogging and had every intention on it since SO much has gone on! I have a couple I started but haven't finished (toddler interruptions)

I have been able to spend a lot more time at home with my little one, and it has been such a blessing for everyone. Kennedy is sleeping AMAZINGLY now, and she eats!! While I'm at home I'm trying to focus on my "toddler time" rather than cleaning, and organizing as much. (Cody can probably attest to that) ANYWAYS, today Kennedy has been cracking me up and reveling just how smart and grown up she has become. Since I don't have a working camera I take most of these pictures on my iPhone and here are a few just from today that had me rolling and saying AAAAhhhhhhh!!

So before I left for the bathroom Kennedy was coloring this morning, when I came back the crayons were gone, this next picture should tell you where they went....her belly usually isn't that deformed...
Kennedy has about 7 babies (no exaggeration) and she plays with every single one of them. Today she was pushing one in her stroller and holding the other, so I followed, and found her putting them to bed singing twinkle twinkle and kissing them "night night". I have to be fast or she'll start cheesing herself so they are a little smudged.

Living Life now, "Toddler Style"

Cody's 10 year reunion is this May, and I was thinking about that a lot lately, not so much that he graduated 10 years ago...but that I graduated 8 years ago. I got to thinking how fast it has gone by and what have I been doing?!! Crazy to think that yes I have accomplished a lot in those 8 years!!

*Became a nurse and got a job a month later and love being a nurse. (no picture for that)

*Got Married to Cody, and I'm realizing how good of a decision that was more and more

*Thought I had mono, but realized it was just a case of pregnancy, ha ha!!

*January 2008, I received my true calling, I became a mother! Words can't express my feelings on this issue. When I look back at these picture I have such a mixture of emotions, how special it is to have a child and watch them grow, and at the same time ache with worry of the things that are to come that they must endure.

I would say the next step would be present. Cody is still working at Atmos Energy and challenges himself to learn and do new things. I am working part-time, maybe less and get to stay home with my Kennedy the rest of the time. We live a simple life and look forward to movie nights and taking Kennedy to do "new" things.

It's been hard when I think everything is good now and life is rolling on, because then I think about my parents and miss them and wish I could drive to see them when I wanted. Its been pretty nice to have a place to vacation to though, Corpus Christi is a nice get-away spot and my parents have a gorgeous home. Cody's family is here and my sisters are both close by so we aren't without family and Kennedy loves all of them.

I am embracing the time I have to stay home with Kennedy during the day, living my Life Toddler Style!!

Today I was reassured that my parents were meant to be in Corpus for a very good reason. Instead of my dad having a mid life crisis like a lot of people do after turning 49, my dad did something else today. I feel like a 3rd grader writing a paper because I'm so proud of my dad, and he doesn't read these but if he ever does find out, he's gonna say, "Jena why did you put that thing on there, take that off" in a country boy accent. SO read on and see if you feel the same way I did....

Bicyclist Lucky To Be Alive After Crashing Into The Bay
CORPUS CHRISTI - It's safe to say one man is lucky to be alive after riding his bike into the water.
The whole incident happened at the Nueces Bay Causeway going towards Portland.
A bicyclist was travelling northbound when witnesses say he crashed into the guardrail and flipped over the bridge and into the water.
Some of those quick-thinking witnesses are the reason he is alive.
One witness, Ophelia Garza, told KRIS 6 News, "He was on this side of the road and he just went in front of us and hit this and he went over."
CCPD Lieutenant J.C. Hooper explained, "He veered across three lanes of traffic, hit the barricade on the west side of the causeway and went into the water."
Witnesses say the 50-year-old man was unconscious and floating in the water - and if it wasn't for some good Samaritans, he may not have lived.
Jane Pieper, whose husband, Courtney, performed CPR at the scene, told 6 News, "My husband saw him and said 'Stop! I'm going to jump in and help him.'"
Pieper says her husband, along with another man, Wes Gore, were two of the people who helped rescue the bicyclist and resuscitate him.
Gore said, "Another man named Pieper jumped in first, so I followed his lead and Pieper was knocking the heck out of him - his stomach - I thought he was gone. But anyway, if Pieper hadn't jumped in he would've been gone."
Incredibly, the man was taken to the hospital with only bumps and bruises.
Police say without those who were willing to jump in and save the man, the outcome would've been much worse.
Lieutenant Hooper asserted, "That was above and beyond for them to jump in the water. Luckily, the water was shallow enough that they could stand and support him."

~After talking to my dad, he said the water was a little more shallow than he expected and he and the other guy each have a pretty sore ankle. But that's expected cause my dad always hurts his ankle when he falls/jumps off of things. But that's a whole different story, but if you ask...I'll tell you. But in all seriousness this poor guy could have died if no one would have got to him in time. I wonder if I would have done the same thing or just froze in fear? Guess you never know till it happens. But if you ask me I could have told you my dad would have jumped in...he's "Coastal" now and there's no going back. :)

Vacation time means time to paint and potty train!!

Yeah...Cody and I took off for 6 days to get miss Kennedy potty trained and give our house an affordable face lift.

We started trying to get Kennedy use to using the toilet at 12 months. I REFUSE to use the mini, portable, toilet those things are SO gross!! I can't even imagine the things that could happen having 2 dogs and a curious toddler. Plus it would be a fight on who's turn it is to clean it out. For those of you that used one I applaud you, I'm just too lazy and stubborn.

So...she has a stool and a seat that work just fine. I've passed the time waiting for "it" to happen by painting her toenails, teaching colors, singing, and other embarrassing things you put yourself through to keep her laughing , every parent has done something like that I'm sure....Only 1 accident today and we are so excited. M&M's and a 20 minute timer have both worked wonderfully...so far anyway. I do realize that I most likely have jinxed myself by posting this. She hates messes so that alone will help things hopefully..........

This was a couple months ago, her legs are now closer to the stool.

We are also painting our kitchen, living room ceiling, and hallway. So every 20 minutes I run and find Kennedy if she hasn't already screamed potty and ran towards the bathroom. Its kinda funny how distressed she gets, like at Home Depot today...no one around us had to wonder what she needed to do she's a screamer.

Oh and my sister Jordan got a teaching job at Fannin, which is right down the street from us. She is teaching AND coaching!! First job interview and she got it. So we have been down to help her fix up her room. While we were there Kennedy found her pockets. Funny kid!!

Well to all of you teachers, hope you enjoy the remainder of your summer. Seems like everyone I'm around is a teacher, so they are getting paid to be off and I'm not and I'm jealous and not ashamed to admit it. BUT, you all soon will be back and all will be well.

Another picture post!!

We got to watch Dallas and Megan's youngest son, Colton, a couple weeks ago and he is such a sweet little boy and has a very kind heart. Obviously at first didn't care for all the love from Kennedy but she won him over in the end.

My sister, Julia, and her 4 kids: Jacob, Jaden, Kaelynn and the new arrival as of February, Jared. I don't have any of kennedy holding Jared, but that doesn't mean she hasn't!! They can all carry her around (minus Jared) and Kennedy seems to always be really interested in what Jaden is doing pretty much constantly, poor guy. Kaelynn is nice to her and lets her play her toys and most of the time GIVES them to Kennedy! Jacob is like a big brother to Kennedy and carries her around as much as we will let him!! I think Kennedy and little Jared are almost the same size now!!

These are Kennedys cousins that are Cody's sister's. Keelie, Kylie, and Kadon (also new as of February) Cody's mom gets to watch Kennedy and Kadon most of the time, so she sees them daily. Kennedy thinks that Kadon is her's and will be the first one to shove that plug in his mouth and tell you he is crying. Keelie is 12 now so she gets to babysit Kennedy every now and then. Kylie, Kennedy can't ever get enough of and has learned A LOT from that girl.

SO, to all those who say have another poor Kennedy needs a sibling I say, "Why, she's not suffering"!!

Here are some of the pictures from our Spring Vacation to Corpus Christi in May. It's a picture overload so enjoy.

Good thing Cody never gets on this, and this is what happens when you don't read your own blog....I like them though. Cody's a really fun dad and they had a blast in the ocean. Kennedy didn't even mind all the salt.

And this is my little girl at her best, she is the most prissy girl. We ended up leaving her babies there, but mom soon mailed them back to us. Although we did have to stop on the way and buy a new one she was going through withdrawls.

Coastal for a Week!!

Mother's Day Sunday we drove back from our 7 day vacation: visiting my parents, relaxing, spending WAY too much money, eating REALLY well, spending quality time as a family, going to the ocean, enjoying the sunshine....and we can't seem to snap out of vacation mode. We both went right back to work this Monday and it just isn't working for us, but here the weekend is coming up again and hopefully we can get back to normal!! I have a few pictures to post, but most of them are on the camera that we haven't got around to downloading :)

Now Kennedy, on the other hand, is just moving right along. She is sleeping in her toddler bed, potty training is still in progress, and we've moved on from animal sounds to colors. I will post more pics as they come, but this time away was SO overdue and SO needed!! My parents need a vacation now cause Cody and Kennedy were a lot to handle I think...kinda needy...

Snow snow go away!!

So the 2009 blizzard in Amarillo came this Friday and I was SO looking forward to seeing my little energetic daughter play in the snow. The clinic closed on Friday so we had all day together and I loved it. I think the only ones that enjoyed the snow this time were Cody and the dogs. Here's a couple pictures I got off my iPhone. It came in handy this long weekend. Kennedy also had her 1st sleep over at our house Saturday night with two of her cousins Keelie and Kylie. I got some pictures on the camera so I'll post those later.
Here's Kennedy in the snow, obviously not happy. We tried again the next day when it was way warmer and we got the same reaction!

We did find out that she would rather play dress up instead. So much for this chick being a tomboy or anything like one. Kennedy is our little sensitive sweetheart always kissing and hugging on all of us. She drug out this Tutu that is still way to big but she knew how cute she looked in it so that didn't matter.

Our family has more than doubled in size and it has been great!! We just welcomed our lucky #13 to my side of the family February the 19th, introducing...Jared Wesley!!

Don't let the hep lock and oxygen scare you, he just required a few extra things before leaving the hospital. He is doing great, I'm a little jealous cause I think he'll be one of those calm, non-hiper kiddos!

I feel REALLY REALLY bad on this next subject because I unfortunately don't have a picture for our other addition, Kadon Jay Reep. He is #10 on Cody's side and SUCH a good baby, and seems pretty low maintenance. He was born 3 days before Jared.

OH and I should also mention that Fender, our Yorkie, "hooked up" (literally) with Brandon's mom's Maltese and made these.....

Now for our little Grace, I'm having a REALLY hard time with this whole working 40+ hours a week and being without Kennedy so long. Who knew I'd ever feel this way. I will be honest and say that maternity leave got SO old at the end. Here you have this baby and you wanna show her off, get out of the house, take her out on the town...but CAN'T and she only did 3 things: ate, slept and the diaper thing. So needless to say I was ok with going back and getting in the swing of things

She just recently learned to say "wuv you, good girl, bike (bite), woof woof, bye bye, bath, ahh puppy" oh and her favorite..."HI" Really she'll say anything you ask her to after repeating it over and over. She loves to dance and reads her books constantly. Only gibberish of course. She has us laughing continuously and seems to cheer us up at greatly needed times. So, I guess it's obvious I love the girl, but who wouldn't?!!

Well, just when we got use to the fact that we were gonna be parents, this weekend and our little girl turned 1!!! Looking back at this first year makes me kinda sad, having to start throwing away her bottles and trading them in for sippy cups, going to straight milk (wait that one is kinda nice, saves me some $$) giving her "baby" toys to Julia for her new baby, having to think about potty training....I don't even wanna think about her starting mother's day out! She is such a fun kid though, we had her party on Sunday and the majority of the kids were older like 5+ but she couldn't tell a difference. We had a pinata, pin the tail on the donkey, cake and presents and it was SO much fun!! I haven't got all her pictures back but I did steel some from Julia so I did get some up. Today she had her one year check up. To sum that visit up; she had three shots cried the worse she has yet, is a tall skinny beautiful little red-head who's car seat still has to face backwards!! Enjoy the pix there will be more to come!!

The holiday for the Seaton family was great this year!! We got to spend time with both our families and were able to spoil eachother well, at least I got a lot of stuff!!! Cody had his birthday on the 17th and I got a few friends together for a little surprise and decided I will never do it again due to the lack of excitement from Cody.

Kennedy did SO good with the tree, she only broke an ornament...or 2! That is way better than expected. We were both really glad we took it easy on gifts for her this year, because she just kept herself busy trying to eat all the wrapping paper and tearing it up into little tiny pieces. We'll make up for it next year I'm sure!

Kennedy is currently having a pretty hard time cutting her molars and just cut her 8th tooth in front! GEEZE that's gotta be HARD!!

SO on New Years Miss Grace ran a fever, diarrhea and runny nose. So just like last year we got to stay at home, at least I wasn't preggo this year!!! So I celebrated New Years with all the New Yorkers an hour early while Cody called everyone on his call list to wish everyone a Happy NEW YEAR!!

I'm not really into New Years Resolutions, Cody said he has too many to list and I just really can't think of anything. Wierd, but I can think of a lot more for him than myself...hmmm...anyway, January is going to be BUSY!! In 2 weeks Julia is gonna have her 3rd and final baby shower for Jared Wesley Soler (due February 27th) Cody's sister Tara is due with a boy, Kadon at the end of February as well and her shower is a week following. The biggest thing is, our Kennedy Grace will be 1 the 17!! We have been planning a trip to Corpus and want to as soon as I have time off!

So hope everyone's year starts off great, I just have a really good feeling about 2009! Maybe it's cause we get to claim someone on our tax deduction... Well, happy New Year!!

We've got our tree up, presants wrapped, 3 days off our chocolate count down calendar, and our house is decked out with our silver and black snowflakes!!! All we lack our the outside lights which have been delayed due to the wind but I won't even pretend I have anything to do with those...Cody gets all the credit!!

Now,on the baby side of life, Kennedy has been breezing through the "hurdles of development" and this weekend was a fun one. In one weekend she: ate dog food, broke an ornament, unwrapped a presant, became the crying baby at Dillards that makes you say to yourself, I'm glad I don't have kids, fell in the bathtub (unharmed)....actually Cody just informed me she broke another ornament this morning...and got her first Goose Egg while throwing one of those lovely fits she just picked up on recently. WHEW...what a busy girl!! Did I mention she knows how to run now and HAS to walk especially while shopping.

After all those things that are to be expected I also know she is so kind hearted and will open mouth kiss you, blow you a kiss, hug your neck/legs, or give you the 6 tooth grin that makes you wish she'd stay that way forever!!

I did partake in the Black Friday CRAZE! Tara Reep, Krista Janke and I all got to Kohl's at 4:00 and got some serious shopping done despite all the static from the non-believers of the amazing holiday!! I will say I did my work this year and planned ahead for the best deals. I got 4 people's gifts FREE, 3 were kids, 50 dollars off Cody's, 30 dollars Kohl's cash, saved 85 dollars at Bath and Body Works, and a certain percentage at each store. Black Friday is a good thing to experience because...

1) It's now a tradition that Tara, my sister in law, and I have together. She comes to get me around 4 and we hit up Kohl's get our Starbucks, head to the mall and meet the boys/family at Kabuki for lunch at 11!! We don't' have a consistent 3rd wheel yet...mom

2) I went Saturday to ensure the sales were legit and only for the early Friday shoppers, and was proven right! No way I would have saved what I did if I would have waited

3) I didn't contribute in any fights or bloodshed while doing this

4) I still have the Christmas spirit throughout the month of December

5) I have to do most of my dad's shopping

6) IT'S FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I guess I forgot with my nephews and niece how fast kids/babies grow! Kennedy started rolling over and the next thing we knew she was walking and kissing boys already!! Cody and I got some videos on our camera so we could keep Nonnna and Pepa updated. Not sure what to do about the kissing thing...

This one is from Aysen Janke's 1st bday party and Kennedy was thoughtful enough to give him his 1st KISS!!

This one is from yesterday, actually Nonna taught her this one, Peek-A-Boo behind the trunk, sure wish I would of got mom on video doing it...it was quite entertaining!!!

Kennedy's cousin Kylie taught her I'm a little teapot and Kennedy will do it when she feels necessary. I got her on video doing it and don't mind the voice singing it cause he doesn't exactly know this is posted, so focus on the cute baby doing a halfway version of I'm a Little Teapot!

I unfortunately, am in Cody's room and he has some pretty interesting books in his room. I will admit that the closest book to me was a biography of an artist that I really don't feel like quoting, nor putting it on our blog in response to my mom's tag. SO, the second one was Edgar Allen Poe's book and the 123 page 5th sentence was, "To be even with him I complained of my weak eyes and laminated the necessity of his spectacles, undercover of witch I cautiously and thoroughly surveyed the apartment, seemingly intent only of the conversation on my host."

Kennedy looked so cute in her costume for Halloween! I had her try it on in September and she did not like it AT ALL. She did great on Halloween though...could have been because she got to try suckers for the first time!! Cody took her around to his work, mine, her Aunt T's and Kennedy's grandma Effie. Jordan and I took her out that night and went to a couple houses. We stopped at Rhonda's house, Liz's, and Gigi's where Kennedy got to shed the pink monster and was SO GLAD!! Here are some pictures of the night. These are from Gigi's when she got to take off the costume, it wasn't as cold as we anticipated it to be.

As you know, Kennedy started walking when she turned 9 months old. I haven't been able to catch any of it on camera because she gets so excited when she sees the camera she won't walk, but crawls instead cause she can get to me faster that way. I did get a couple clips of her this morning luckily. Just proof that my petite little Kennedy has conquered walking!

Here's another one, not as easy to catch her on video...but she's walkin. She got a new ball and likes to chase it around so it's not the greatest.

That's right, our Kenndey is walking!! I just got over the fact that she was crawling and now she is walkin! When I say that I mean she's averaging 5-6 steps and then crawls, just like every other baby, cause they get the "oh crap" look on their face and go to crawling what they know best. I got her on camera, but I don't know how to post it right so pictures will have to do. I'm kinda freaking out because she's: rolled over, said Ma Ma, Da Da, Ba Ba, Iley (Kylie), Bye Bye, Na Na, Pa pa, and Hi, cut 6 teeth, crawled, and now walking!! I guess I'll start saving for a car...crap this is too fast for me!!! Why do we ever wish our kids to do all these things anyway? The outfit she has on is 9 months and kinda big, but I'm hoping that someday she'll fit into the appropriate size, considering she still wears 0-3 month pants...now that is definately not from me!! My bottom half has never been considered small!

Pumpkin Patch

Kennedy got to go to her 1st pumpkin patch this weekend with her 2 cousins (keelie and Kylie), aunt Tara and Uncle Jason. I would say the biggest events would have to of been the hay ride and maze. Kennedy and I weren't too good at the corn maze, we actually took a fall in the mud...yeah it wasn't the greatest so we ended up just walking straight through the side making our own exit! Those mazes are overrated anyway. We did get 3 pumpkins, Keelie and Kylie will be on channel 7 news tonight from an interview, and we found out that Kennedy was allergic to hay! We do have some pictures to show for it all, not the greatest, Ken wasn't in picture mood!

BUSY WEEKEND!!!!

Weekends get shorter and shorter and especially when you have every day planned out! This past weekend was one of those, but in a good way!!

My mom and dad came down, well up, this weekend and mom took Cody, Me, Jordan, Brandon and Kennedy to Jorges Thursday dad didn't get here till Friday. The next day Jordan and mom did wedding stuff dad came in town and they got to eat with their friends that night. Saturday morning we went to Jordan's wedding shower at Kim's house and then we left for Borger that day at 5 for Jacob's baptism. After an extended 90 minute ride home from Borger, I"ll get to that later, we were pretty exhausted! Sunday we got to sleep in...no wait, that doesn't happen anymore...Kennedy got up at 6:00am on the button so her and I went and got coffee and breakfast while Cody slept in on his morning to sleep. At 1:30 we got our swimming suits ready, along with Kennedy's ear plugs, and went to mom and dad's hotel to celebrate Kaelynn's birthday. Kennedy had a BLAST swimming and was SO PISSED when I took her out. Later on that night we went with Jordan, Brandon, mom and dad to meet the one's responsible for the guy Jordan decided to marry, his parents. Turned out pretty good, we got bloomin onions, steak, and didn't have to pay! Lovely weekend and I hate that they have to go by so fast!!!

Look how EXHAUSTED my little girl is after our traumatic ride home from Borger! Usually it's a 45 minute ride and this particular drive home took us 90 minutes. It first started with her refusal to ride in her carrier. Now if the girl would gain 4 pounds she would weigh enough to be in an actual car seat like most kids her age! Anyways, after having to pull over twice, once because she wouldn't stop screaming and twice when she puked guava fruit and formula ALL OVER!!!! Needless to say she was so tired when we got home fell asleep taking a bath. Poor little girl!!

As everyone probably knows already, this month is breast cancer awareness month. This year it meant more to me than I ever expected because on September 22ND I went with my friend from work on her 41st birthday to find the mass in her breast was cancer.

She has SUCH extreme faith and such a positive attitude I would be a baskettcase!! She is now living only by the knowledge that it's all in God's hands. (Pretty good attitude I'd say) It's only been a couple weeks since she was diagnosed, but because the lump was 4 by 6 cm they have already started Chemotherapy. So there fits the title to this blog...get your mammograms!!

I see first hand how common breast cancer is working at a family physician's clinic and it is SO treatable and curable!!!!

All I ask now is for everyone's prayer for Lucretia, she is a single mom working 2 FULL time jobs, and is putting her son through college. YIKES her plate is full! I truly believe and always have that everything happens for a reason and feel as though she will fight through it better than I ever could. So please think of her in your prayers family and friends it's what yall are good at!!!

This blog should have been posted a couple weeks ago...eh oh well though.

So, a couple of weeks ago we went over to Jerod and Tiffany Land's house to cook out and meet their baby, Addalynn. Meanwhile, Kennedy and her BUSY self played with her new friends. This is a picture of Kennedy, Cody and her cousin Colton. (Dallas and Megan's new baby) Colton and Kennedy get along great, he doesn't seem to mind our extremely happy daughter that thinks his head is a basketball. He just sits back and laughs.

She also got to play with Kynlee Keeler who is Kent and Kristi's baby born in December a month before Kennedy. She shared all her toys with Kennedy and all Ken wanted was her yellow bow, poor Kynlee!!! Kennedy was everywhere and wanted every one's attention. (I think she gets that from Cody.) She is so funny, and this weekend made me realize what HUGE personality she has!! Oh my gosh Cody and I are in for it big time!! I think we are gonna have a pretty interesting life raising this girl, and are in for a lot of laughs!!!!

Kennedy got all decked out in Dallas Cowboy attire this weekend and we headed over to the Gramma Gayla and Papa's house. She played with her cousin, Colton, who is 3 months younger and weighs just about the same. As you can see she loved being around a "her size" person. She got a little crazy and constantly wanted to grab him and she sometimes screamed when she got excited! I'm hoping she burns all that energy off eventually!!!

We went to the Tri State Fair this weekend. Ticket prices went up, surprise surprise, but we got free entry tickets from Jordan so that was 20 bucks well saved. I would have to say I was slightly disappointed because a few years ago while working at Pak A Sak I compiled a list of "Must Eat Foods at the Fair". It had 14 things on it and every year we buy them all. Due to technical difficulties this year we only were able to eat 10 and because I know that the one person that does read this might care, I decided to list them.

Turkey Leg

sprite, for obvious reasons...

German sausage sandwich, Cody enjoyed thoroughly

oh and we ate off Jordan and Brandon's Fried Taters

2 years ago I would have been very disappointed at that list, but post pregnancy...things aren't like they use to be.

Kennedy loved the fair and was SO busy looking around at everyone and everything we never had to worry about her getting bored. Though at the end it did get a little cold and she wanted to be held.
I really wanted Cody to volunteer for the hypnotist, but he said he didn't want anyone controlling his mind. Jordan also wouldn't because she was afraid her sleep walking and talking would get worse...whatever!!! It was pretty cool to watch though, I highly recommend anyone to volunteer he said 1 hour under hypnosis was equivalent to 1 week's rest. WHY DIDN'T I DO IT?!

Any who we took some pics and learned how big of a ham Miss Kennedy is when you pull out a camera.

Thank my mom for the title...she thought of it.

Ferberization continues....

OK so, this is really not easy. I know patients is key, but how much screaming can a person take?! I so wish I could have gotten a picture of last night's experience. It was about 4 am and Kennedy was on a rampage, she woke up and wanted so bad for us to get her out. Cody got up to "assure her" so she could fall back asleep, per Dr. Ferber's instruction. Come to find out he fell asleep on a pink fluffy rug while holding Kennedy's hand through the rails so they could both sleep and slept till 6.
Well, I slept through the whole thing so I was unaware of anything.
Honestly though, it is getting better. The crying sessions are shorter and sleep time is longer. I still wanna strangle parents who say their child had no trouble sleeping and still don't. Mostly out of jealousy though.
SO, this weekend we will hopefully be conquering this thing...I don't have my hopes up though and now I found out that it actually takes 6 nights on average. HALF WAY THROUGH!!!!

It's hilarious how many pictures we took of Kennedy when she was newborn. Every time she did ANYTHING new we got it on camera. Not that it's a bad thing, but we were looking through the millions of pics we took, also while wondering how we didn't break that little person, and found these. She is only 7 months old now, but seems so tiny in all these!

Night 1

When they say this isn't for the weak at heart, they are so right!!!
We did it though, we made it through one full night.
Fortunately Kennedy was so tired from her busy day it wasn't much of a battle to get her to bed. We went through about 5 intervals before she fell asleep of going in and kissing her and rubbing her back every 5 to 10 minutes, while she looks at us like, "ok you jerks pick me up already, don't you love me?!"
I woke up next at 2am and told Cody I couldn't do it anymore and wanted to just get her and rock her. Well his response was, "yeah go ahead"!!! Well that was a test and he failed big time!! I guess I'm gonna have to be the strong one tonight since it's his night tonight!! I'm hoping that tonight will go smoothly, doubt it will but that's life!
Until tomorrow~~Sleep well~~~I won't!

I know, I can't believe I chanced her waking up by taking a picture with the flash on and everything...she'll appreciate it when she's older :)

Ferberizing in process!!!......

Wish us luck the next couple of days because we are gonna need it!! We have a little problem with our 7 month old, she will not sleep through the night, and therefore; either do we!!!!
My mom has been on a mission to help us and talked with other mothers and done some research on the computer to try to find something, anything to get miss Kennedy to sleep through the night. The WHOLE night. So, just like Robert De Niro in Meet the Fockers we are gonna try the Dr. Ferber method. It teaches you to let her self soothe by putting herself to sleep., but still checking in on her. I have read so many things saying not to leave your child in her bed crying without going to them because it leads to abandonment. Well, my mom after I wouldn't sleep through the night, did this and I really don't feel any sense of abandonment. Apparently we do it wrong by rocking her to bed and then laying her down. She wakes up constantly throughout the night and it's killing us!!! Well anyway so now we are going to try this and I will keep ya posted on the outcome of "Ferberizing". Well, really I had nothing to do with this, but thanks to all the rain we had last week, my flowers look perty good. SO this blog is for my mom reassuring her that her "plant killer-gene" didn't go to me:) See, some plants do survive in Amarillo!

The Melting Pot...our FAVORITE!!!

We ate at our favorite restaurant ever in Bricktown OKC. It was so good, luckily Kennedy slept most of the time. I'm not sure how the fondue pot and skewers would have worked with her. I didn't really think that through. If ever you are in a city with a Melting Pot you must go and make reservations, but expect to pay more than at Taco Villa cause it's some good eatin!!!!

I did have a brilliant idea for a group picture after we finished dessert and Miss Kennedy woke up. After looking at this picture you will see what I mean when I say my child never stops moving and has to grab everything. Needless to say I was glad it was a warm night out, cause we did some walking to work off all that food and dry my pants off. Thanks Ken!

Oklahoma ZOO!!!!

Friday we went to the zoo and the weather was pretty nice, a little hot in the end but when is it not? There was a butterfly exhibit and my mom was adamant about getting one to land on her. It never happened...

My dad kept himself busy avoiding all picture taking opportunities and making sure he didn't miss the Misters on the sidewalks. The monkey exhibit was pretty interesting and you can ask Cody what he learned about protecting your territory because he used those skills later that night during the NIN concert. Funny people say we come from monkeys....

Besides the elephants not being there due to their need to breed in Tulsa, most all of the animals were present. We had us a good 'ole time!

Oklahoma with Nonna and Pepa

We went on our first family vacation away with my parents (Nonna and Pepa) to Oklahoma City this past weekend. Kennedy did really good on the drive there and back. I had to sit in the back with her for a little while, good thing I know a lot of songs!! Cody and I went to the Nine Inch Nails concert Friday night also ate at Toby Keith's Bar and Grill. (weird combination I know) We went to the Zoo and did some shoppin!

Kennedy Grace is now 6 months!!!!

She is saying Ma Ma and crawling around but always keeping one eye on whoever else is in the room. We are having SO much fun with her. She will smile at everyone unless your big and bald or named Brandon...then she'll just stare.

Last week she got 4 shots for her 6 month visit. She weighed 14 pounds and was 27 inches. Tall and skinny! No fair!

We are getting ready to go to Oklahoma with my mom and dad and are really excited. Kennedy won't remember and it's pretty much pointless to go to the zoo, but oh well we like it anyway.
